Short version: some links here earn us a commission if you go on to apply. It costs you nothing extra and doesn't change the fees or terms you get.
This page explains how the site makes money, so you can weigh what you read with that in mind.
stuckatstep earns through affiliate links. If you click through to a card issuer and go on to apply, the issuer may pay a referral fee. The fee is paid by the issuer, not by you, and the price you pay is the same either way.
Links to issuer application pages are affiliate links. Links to other pages on this site are not. Where a link is affiliate, the destination is the issuer's own site — not a third-party comparison service.
Which cards get covered, and how prominently. A site that earns from a card has an incentive to write about it. That's why the coverage here is narrow — one issuer, covered properly, rather than a wide list ranked by payout.
It can also affect ordering where several options exist. Where a ranking is influenced by commission rather than fit, it's said so on the page.
Fees are quoted from the issuer's published schedule and carry a check date, so a stale figure is visible rather than hidden.
Downsides are written up as fully as upsides — the fee page lists every charge, not just the free ones, and the comparison page says plainly what the model doesn't do.
The site isn't owned by Netspend, Pathward, N.A., or any issuer, and nothing published here is approved by them. If a page and the issuer's own terms disagree, the issuer is right — see the terms.
Affiliate links are the only commercial relationship on the site. There are no display ads, no sponsored posts and no paid placements at present. If that changes, this page changes with it.
